About our host: Lupe Lennox-Salinas (@chingonahoops on Instagram) is a Latina who loves to embroider. Latinx culture, art, and history is what inspires her and what she really loves exploring with embroidery. This is not your abuela’s embroidery, it is modern embroidery. She mostly focuses on portraits of Latinos that include anything from fictional characters in a movie, book, etc. to non-fictional historical figures. It is her small way to make them more visible and our voices heard.
